The Empty Spaces
by Dragontamer on Jul.23, 2010, under Uncategorized
Eighteen months after starting this blog, I reckon it’s time to tap some new words into it.
Life on this human plane tends to come in a rather exhausting series of whirlwinds, broken up by dashes of empty spaces. When the empty spaces come, what choice do we have aside from falling away from it all for a few blessed moments?
Just as the bliss of the emptiness takes over, a new wave of life crashes right over our heads, and sends us back into the whirlwind. New life enters as old life prepares to leave. Random inspiration gives way to a new and time-demanding hobby of raising chickens. That job of over half a decade that promised so much for the coming years is suddenly revealed to be a mere instance of extended bribery and we must move on, regardless of the consequences. One’s last living grandparent of blood creeps towards her own great release, and you are the only grandchild who can visit almost every day.
Life happens and so we live it, often longing for the return of the next empty space. What I have discovered is that if we can live each moment as it comes, the empty space is never far away. In each moment, whether it is scribbling, ciphering, building, bonding, or just being there, I can feel the empty space all around me.
There, I am at peace.
Hello dragon lovers of the world!

Welcome to this bit of cyberspace where who knows what may happen. The dragons of Kanigaard are eagerly breathing against my back, ready for another round of spilling their magical world onto empty pages.
If you have not yet read the Kanigaard books, you may still find enjoyment in this blog. The dragons do not limit themselves to only one world, and neither should you.
As for now, please visit the new atlas pages, with updated cartography by Gregory Carlson. The bulk of the world will be available soon for viewing and exploration. I do hope you will join us. These dragons love a good gathering.
In Light,
Nikolai
